Kano Pillars Camp in Abuja Ahead of Season Opener
Four time Nigeria Premier Football League Champions, Kano Pillars Football Club has commenced a one-week closed camping in the nation’s capital, Abuja, ahead of the commencement of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League Season.
The Sai Masu Gida under the tutelage of Daniel Ogunmodede, arrived in Abuja on Friday following a series of warmup matches and participation in the 2026 Gusau/Ahlan Preseason Tournament where the team’s journey ended in the quarter finals.
During the camping, the team is expected to fine-tune its preparations ahead of the season opener against Kwara Utd in Ilorin on Sunday 30th August 2026.
Chairman of the club, Alhaji Ahmad Musbahu Garo, said the camping is part of the club preparations ahead of the forthcoming 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football league season expected to be get underway on August 28th 2026.
Garo said during the camping the team is expected to play warmup matches in Abuja in order to know their level of preparedness for the forthcoming season.
He further charged technical Crew and players to be focus on the task ahead of them.
The Chairman said the major aim of the club is to assemble a team capable of challenging for top honours.
“Apart from the NPFL, we are expecting the team to do well in the President Federation Cup,” Garo said.
